Quality question! MP3 to CD, Back To MP3?

I have a bunch of mp3s i ripped with a bitrate of 360, and i want them down to 128 for storge reasons, i want more to fit on my mp3 player

the method im using is:

burn mp3s to vital drive

%26amp; repripping them in WMP!

the resulting mp3 is now 128!

im not so much bothered about the quailty change between 360 and 128... what i wanna know is does this precess MP3%26gt;CD%26gt;MP3 degrade the quality even more? more so them ripping direct from the original CD to 128 mp3s!

Theoretically, since MP3's are a "lossy" compression method. MP3%26gt;CD%26gt;MP3 should degrade the quality more than ripping direct from the origial CD to 128. However, I'd try both methods on one or two tracks and see if I could tell the difference. If I couldn't, then I'd use whatever method was easier.

Okay I downloaded MP3 Rocket for my new mp3 and downloaded some songs into the library but im stuck now. I don't know how to get the songs on my Mp3. So is there anything i need to download or use.

P.s. This might help but i have two computers one is Windows Vista and the other is Windows XP 2000

You can do it very easily with Windows Media Player. I have never used Vista, but I assume that WMP is very similar in the two operating systems. But at least in XP, I can tell you how to do it. So first, you have to know what folder your music is located in. By default, WMP scans the My Music folder for audio files, so if your music is somewhere else, you should either move it, or be sure you know what folder it's in. Then, with your mp3 player connected to your PC, open Windows Media Player. It should recognize your player instantly and ask you to name it if you haven't already. Then, click the arrow that appears beneath the Library tab and select Add to Library from the menu. It will come up with a window that will scan your default folder for audio files. Make sure the correct folder with your music in it is selected, and then let it scan. Once all your music in is your media library, if you just want everything in it on your player, go to the Sync tab and hit the Start Sync button that appears in the bottom right corner of WMP. If you only want certain things to sync, right click on your mp3 player in the far left hand column of WMP and select Set Up Sync from the menu. A window will come up with two panes that will allow you to add or remove items from the sync list. Once that is all set, just hit that Start Sync button. And that's all you have to do. Many players also allow you to simply drag and drop content to the player if you don't want to sync it. To do this, open the player in My Computer and open the folder with your music and just drag and drop the files to your player. Hope that helps.

Please be more specific, do you want to download it into your mp3 player or into a mp3 player program?

If you want to download it into an mp3 player and it doesn;t come with a software, you can try connecting your player to your pc, Open My Computer and Browse through the "Removable Storage Devices. Check the mp3 player directory and drag and drop the files there. SAfely Remove and check it out!

YES it is a VERY good player, Zens are better than iPods, better sound quality, better bang for the buck and TONS more features

if you get some from limewire stay away from the ones that dont have a bitrate and make sure that they also say mp3 and are higher than 1500 (1.5mb)kb

depends, if you wanna connect it to a stereo sure why not, but theres no built i speaker, only the portable video players have speakers

MP3 not working!!!!!!?

i have a little blue SanDisk Sansa mp3 and i've had it for about two to three years now and i've had no problems with it in the past. i do have a bad habit of dropping it alot, which i think caused this problem. my mp3 has this middle button that if held down on a song, it adds it to my favorites and deletes them from there. this keeps going off even if i'm not touching my mp3. sometimes my volume button doesn't work either... HELP!!!!!! i know that i can take off the outer part, but how do i fix it from the inside where the chips and stuff are?

I want to know if there are any MP3 players that are compatable with napster but not stated on the website.

I have an ipod, I was thinking about going wioth napster but then read only certain MP3 players are compatable. On the website it tells you exactly what is.

I cant find the link on the site to ask napster and am failry sure they would only want to cover their backs and say "only those stated on our site work with naster" without really checking.

Ok all i can say girl is just buy an MP3..and use Limewire...it's not illegal since you're using it for personal used. anyways, dump that Napster software. It gave me headache 2 years ago and I though having a compatible MP3 was enough. Napster is so last year. seriously. Napster makes you spend more money than you need.

Please don't recommend I get an iPod because I only need about 2 gigs of storage for songs and a few videos, so iPods are too expensive for what I need. Thanks for your suggestions :]

DONT get a Creative? brand MP3 player. I just got a Creative Zen V Plus 8GB today and after one charge it WONT TURN ON now!!! What a piece of crap.

Rather than the ones you've listed, I would recommend the Creative Zen V+. I have the 2GB model and am very happy with it. The interface is easy to use, the software used to load songs/videos to the system is simple and the overall quality is excellent. Wal-Mart has a 4GB model for $89.

well i have a sansa mp3 and i was uploading songs on it then when i was done i disconnected and the mp3 player says that its Refreshing Database well its been doing that for a long time now and it wont go to the mp3 menu all that stuff so i think that it ****** up somewhere so is their a way i can reset this mp3 player because i couldn't find a reset button. Hold down the power button for 15 seconds to do the manual reset on it, that is if you have E-200 series, if I remember right that was the only one that goes up 6 and 8 GB sizes. But here is also the manual if you lost yours.
