ok go to limewire.com and download the free version. then when this free version is open download limewire pro from the free version. this is a file sharing program which will allow you to download movies, songs, games and etc.

then of course when the pro is downloaded delete the free version. if you dont want to go through all the work the free version should be good too.

PS:you are not paying anything for the pro...(we cheated them)
if you want to download mp3 legally i recommend a place where you can get your 25 downloads for FREE!!

Playing MP3 files on Alba stereo via USB?

My Alba stereo has a USB port which you can use to play MP3 files. When I plug in my MP3 player (also Alba, which came as a freebie with the stereo), the files aren't recognised, even though they play on the MP3 itself. I used Windows Media Player to transfer the files from CDs onto the MP3.

Does anybody know why they're not recognised by the stereo?

TIA

Sansa e280 - MP3 player playing with car stereo?

I have recently purchased Sansa e280 - 8GB MP3 player and it plays well. I wish to play this MP3 player's songs through my car stereo so that whenever I am driving I have more selection of songs. My question is -

a) is it possible to play MP3 player through car stereo ? how should I do it ?

b) I am not sure but I believe if I get cassette adapter (the one which takes portable CD player output through output jack into cassette adapter. The cassette adapter then to be inserted into car audio cassette player and play it. Is this possible or it will damage my Sansa MP3 player by impedence mismatch ?

Really appreciate any input from experience users.

the first thing i had is the cassette adapter which worked great now a days there is something called fm transmitter which runs about $30 where u can connect ur sansa into the fm tranmitter and select a preset on it then on ur car stereo find the preset with the scan button or watever ur preset is set to go to that station

you can hook it up to an amplifier to your speakers, you need a y connector cable to go to your ipod stereo output, then to your amp inputs, its that easy now your ipod is a stereo for really cheap if you have a amp

Hi there, I need to ask everybody what do you think about this website: mpfree.com

They say you can download free mp3 music by earning it completing registrations by registering on websites that they present to you. Is this music legal? Also, I am looking for a way to download mp3 music 100% legal, is there a website to download mp3 100% legal?

Wma to mp3 conversion?

The 'wrinkly again' ...

I asked a question earlier about converting cd's to MP3 and storing the files on my hard disk.

Someone kindly gave me an answer ref using Windows Media Player and doing sonething called 'ripping'?. I have sadly some how lost that answer?? That should tell you a lot about my experience with computers??

But I have tried 'ripping' cd's via Windows Media Player and it converts them to WMA files and not MP3 - I need to convert my cd's to MP3 - or convert the WMA to MP3 so I can transfer to a mobile phone.

I would rather NOT transfer software from the internet as have had bad experiences doing this in the past. Is there nothing within Windows Vista that will do the job??

Creative vPlus mp3 player and Motorola A/C adapter...please help me charge this!!?

I need to recharge the battery on my Creative V Plus mp3 player. The only thing that my Zen V plus mp3 player came with was a usb cable that attaches to a computer for recharging it. I am going on vacation soon, and I didn't want to lug around my laptop with me just to charge my mp3 player. I have a motorolla krzr cell phone. The A/C adapter also has a

usb 2.0 port to recharge it. Since the ports match, I was wondering if I could use the wall a/c adapter to charge my mp3 player without breaking it? It says that the voltage output on the A/C adapter is 5.0V-550mA. I contacted Creative Labs, and they wouldn't tell me what the maximum voltage that the player could handle. I don't know how to figure out how much power actually is converted from my computer to the device. Could anyone help me with this problem? Thank you!!

Creative vPlus mp3 player and Motorola A/C adapter...please help me charge this!!?custom myspace

Your AC adapter is capable of furnishing 5 volts at 550 mA. This is more than enough for your mp3 player.

The USB specification provides a 5 V (volts) supply on a single wire from which connected USB devices may draw power. The specification provides for no more than 5.25 V and no less than 4.75 V (5 V卤5%) between the positive and negative bus power lines. Initially, a device is only allowed to draw 100 mA. It may request more current from the upstream device in units of 2 mA up to a maximum of 500 mA.

The tolerances within the USB standard are rather tight, so you should be good to go.

Question on MP3 players?

I want to get my boyfriend an MP3 player for Christmas. The only problem is that he doesnt have a decent computer, and hes constantly having to reboot it. The only MP3 player I'm familiar with is the ipod, and everytime u want to put a new song on ur ipod, u have to download the song into the library and then hook up the ipod to the comp. and then its pretty muching clearing out the history in ur ipod and uploading all of the old songs plus the new ones into the MP3 player. This normally isnt a big deal, but since hes constantly rebooting the comp. he would have to keep redownloading the songs everytime this happens...... is there any MP3 player that isnt' like this??

thanks

try sandisk much cheaper
i'd look into the zune, although im not yet familiar with its software.

the ipod can be set to update manually, meaning your bf can add songs to the ipod himself, instead of it just updating based on whats in his itunes. thats how i do mine, anyways. also, if you set it to update manually, you can hook it up to other peoples itunes, and get music from them!
ive had 2 mp3 players that are like that: gmini and the creative they each held about 3,000 songs.
Why on earth is he having to continually reboot? Is he overheating his system? Tell him to take the side cover off his computer and stick a box fan up to it. heh.

Which is the best MP3 player for my needs?

I'm looking into buying an MP3 player. At first I was just going to buy an iPod, but I've come across some info that says iPod is easily beat by other MP3 players as far as functionality, price, and durability. I'm not really sure which one to go with!

Here is what I would need in a MP3 player:

1. An MP3 player that plays FM music.

2. Ease of file transfers. I have hundreds of MP3s stored on my computer that I would like to transfer to my MP3 player. (I heard somewhere that if I bought an iPod I would have to download all my music from iTunes. I've never seen the site, nor do I know much about MP3 players....)

3. This isn't really important...but I would like to find one that has alot of accessories, like skins, cases, etc. I like to change the look as well as protecting it.

4. PRICE...I am going to have to save for one, so I'd like to get the most for my money.

Do anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

the only one i can think of that has a lot of accessories is iPOD

and i don't think they all have to be downloaded from iTunes

as for the FM music i can't help you there

my advice is to get a shuffle you can get memory cards for it i think

by the way the first guy is wrong i have a Zen and it doesn't get FM
If I were you I would get a Creative MuVo TX FM. They come in various memory sizes and prices. I bought the 512 MB one for around $65 at a compusa closeout sale. This device has FM radio and plays mp3/wma. You do not need to install anything on your PC. In fact, the device acts like a thumb drive and will accept normal computer files so you can carry files to another computer. Any unprotected mp3/wma you drag into the device will play.

Creative Muvo supports only mp3 and wma formats. There is only one solution, you have to convert the mp4 files to mp3/wma.

Here's a free converter (25MB):

It will convert virtually any file. In your case, convert the files into mp3s.

No their is no way because the files are in MP4. and ur player is mp3. the MP4 r too advance for the player so they wont be able to read it.
its just like ps1 and ps2 you cant play ps2 games on the ps1 just like you cant download mp4 files to an mp3 player because mp4 files need diff. hardware which an mp3 doesnt have and that is what i think so good luck

And I have tried to convert the MP3 files to WAV. and WMA but none of them play in any of my CD players. People say that burning them with Windows Media Player automatically converts MP3 files to regualr files so they can play in just about any Cd player. But that doesnt work. I have tried alot of coverters and none of them work. My last hope was Power to go but that did'nt work either. I am trying to get my MP3 files to play in any CD player. It may be the format the music is in. Some mp3 players can play audio in any format but others require you to convert them. If u are using wma format u may need to sync with windows media player. Try converting the music to a different format using an audio converter. Just google "free audio converter".

What is this LAME mp3 encoder all about?

I have recently started ripping music on my windows media player with a bitrate of 256kbps. on mp3 format.I have heard about this Lame encoder and don`t understand it.Can i still encode even though my format is already mp3 or do i have to rip as another format first and then encode into mp3 and will i still be able to chose the bitrate of 256kbps.I have cassette`s that have converted to cd`s at a bitrate of 192kbps. and don`t want redo all of it again,i still want to burn them as mp3`s and play them on a sound system will music that is ripped just as mp3 format sound less satisfactory than an mp3 that has been encoded by lame encoder. And if i have to re-rip my cd collection that was ripped at 256kbps. and encode it what format is the best to rip at before encoding it.

What is this LAME mp3 encoder all about?kids myspace

The higher bitrate makes for better sound quality, but it comes at a price. The files are larger. I listen to my music from an mp3 player on a motorcycle, so I'm not really too concerned with quality. I run mine real low, and encode to.wma files. I usually get 2 megs or so per song.

LAME is an MPEG Audio Layer III (MP3) encoder licensed under the LGPL. It is considered the best MP3 encoder at mid-high bitrates and at VBR (variable bitrate).

128 mb isn't good. yes it's true that it only holds 30 songs. 512 MB holds 120 songs. 1GB is 2,000 songs. Zune MP3 Player Help?!?

Okay.. so I am on the fence about buying the Zune MP3 Player. I have a couple of questions about it first:

- Is it a good product to buy?

- If you own one, do you like it, and does it have flaws? If so, what are they?

- Can you synch songs from Windows Media Player onto it, like regular mp3 players, or do you have to buy songs from the Zune website?

Zune MP3 Player Help?!?pimp myspace

high five for not being a zombie and wanting an iPod. overpriced mediocrity =/= the best choice.

As far as I know Zunes play your stuff fine and are as good as any good MP3 player.

I think you could get 30 gig ones for 100 bucks at one point so I would say that's worth it for sure. not sure if they can be found at that price anymore, but I'd say go for it.

I think you use a Zune program instead of WMP and you should be able to synch it. You don't have to buy the songs. Limewire ftw huh?

I have a Meizu player (got it at NewEgg.com) which was a little over 100 bucks with tax and shipping. 4GB, very compact (like a credit card). A screen that covers most of the front, plays videos decently, sound quality's fine.

I'd recommend it unless you want thousands of songs in your player.

Good luck.

Zune MP3 Player Help?!?stars myspace myspace.com

i love my zune, i got it from american express last year for only $125 (it was their christmas contest), anyway, it does use the same formats of music the ipod uses, it also plays video, i think 3 formats (the same as an ipod), and it has a sync send where you can wirelessly transfer songs to someone elses zune (i think it has a 10 foot range) and vice versa (for some reason you can only do this 3 times a day)
I've owned both and mostly now settled on the zune.

I think its a good product (reliable, priced reasonably and has good features).

I do like it for a few reasons. The display is quite nice, it has a built in radio receiver, good battery life.

Flaws (compared to ipod), the older version is a bit bulkier and heavier, smaller storage amount (30gb vs 80gb) but that's ok for me.

Funny it is not compatable with Windows media player (seems odd) but the new Zune application is really quite nice and they have put a lot more effort into the marketplace, more organized, and in depth bio's. It does support mp3 format so you can easily switch if you use that format. You just need to point the zune's library search to the right music folders and you are go to go.

I do think it is a good initial effort for Microsoft in this area and they seem to want to give the market a go now with the 2nd generation. If/when I upgrade it will likely be a new zune, overall its a good value for the money.

A few other minor points/nags I've found

- the album art is often not what you would expect and it is clunky to change

- the wireless sync in the 1st gen is basically useless. Who wants to hang around pointing zunes at each other while you transfer a song you can play 3 times? I've heard the 2nd gen is better as you can wireless sync to your computer but I can't say for sure.

- videos need to be converted format wise but there are a couple of low cost alternatives for this is you are wanting to use it for videos

I don't work for ms and don't even own their stock - just a zune owner :) Maybe find a friend that has one and you can give it a try. Good luck!

What program are you using to sync music to your MP3 player? It's probably compatibility. If not, you may need to manually move (copy) music to the sandisk. What OS are you using? Need more info to be any help.
If your mp3 came with any software u might want to try reloading it. Or I hate to this it might need to be taken/sent back because the problem could have perexisted.

MP3 or WMA?

Which format can an MP3 cd hold more of? I made one with mp3 format and it has like 75 rap songs and 60 r%26amp;b. would i be able to fit more music if it were WMA format? Basically, which is a smaller file?

The cd player in my car can play both WMA and MP3 files.

You have to remember that WMA and AAC files give you better sound quality, but mp3 files are smaller so you can fit more. And remember to lower the bit rate to standard like 128 bits. But that will give you less than superoir sound quality, but if you want more storage, then that's the way to go. Otherwise, I would just get a new mp3 player. I mean, even a 4 gig mp3 player can hold about 1,000 songs.

MP3 to 8 Track Converter for car?

Hey, I know that many a people have asked this about 8track players and such but I came across an idea for a mp3/cd player to 8 track converter for your car. Like the cassette to 8track converters or the mp3/cd to cassette converters for cars....anyone know how to create this as I want to hook my MP3 player to my 8-track in my car. Just throw out the 8track and buy a proper head unit and system... Get with the times, my friend.

MP3 to 8 Track Converter for car?big brother myspace myspace.com

Simple, the 1/8" stereo plug wire is soldered directly to an 8-track head. You would need a junk 8-track player to extract the head from it and fit it inside of an 8-track cassette. The 8-track player would then always have to be on the first or last track depending which way the head was mounted.

Don't forget to make the head in the cassette spring loaded so it can move freely in a perpendicular motion to the play head.

The problem is most likely your directory. First: Go to "Edit"..."Preferences"..."Adva... Tab" and make sure the "iTunes Music Folder Location" is set to the folder where all of your songs are saved.

Next, if you are doing the "Drag %26amp; Drop" file management, plug in your iPod...under "Devices" in the window on the left in iTunes, you should see your iPod...highlight it and make sure the box "Manually Manage Music" is checked.

As for the song(s) that freeze, they are either corrupt or have a virus...DELETE THEM!

If this does not fix the problem, uninstall iTunes and re-install it. Also, make sure you have the most updated iPod software...both of which can be found on apple's website.

Hope that helps!

Can MP3 files contain viruses and other bad stuff?

I have always assumed that MP3 files are generally virus free.

I've never had any problems with stuff like MP3s or movie files I've obtained via P2P file sharing programs.

Recently I've been swapping a lot of Mp3 files with people via Bulletin Board Forums. I was wondering if anyone has heard of viruses being transmitted via MP3.

Naturally I'm suspicious of .exe files but is it possible that a malicious executable file could be hidden in / disguised as an MP3?

Would most anti-virus software like AVG, or Nortons automatically screen the file before the attachment opens, or should I dowload the file and manually direct a scan of each file first?

Can MP3 files contain viruses and other bad stuff?myspace commentes

There are no viruses to infect MP3 audio files. There is one widespread fake warning on such virus in circulation. MP3 are not self executable files nor, they can they contain any scripting. Such files like .mp3 .dat .txt cannot contain virus. Or even if it has the virus signature, the code cannot be activated. People who say that mp3 can contain virus or infect your system are just ignorant, who prefer to give advice without knowing about it.

People who get infected by virus (who claim that they got infected by mp3, are usually victims of exploits). There are no worms or virus till date which can use mp3 files as host to infect systems.

No, but files with the extension MP3 which are actually .EXE files will run and put all kinds of bad things on your computer. KNOW WHERE THE FILE COMES FROM.
Most ppl dont know it, but yes, they can contain virus'......

They can also appear as an MP3, but not actually be one. MOST software can detect it, but not all, and not always.....

Good luck.........I have the same worries with my ipod and other mp3 devices I have.

HELLO Maurice........sorry, you are incorrect that they cannot.....They infact CAN....Sony music corp was recently sued for a copy protection software (which ended up being a "virus" of sorts) that would render the cd drive and or computer INOPERABLE after xxx number of uses when burned
you can get viruses via mp3's..yeah!

Be careful who your source is...stop sharing/swapping and buy from a secure sight. Or at minimum scan each file.
if you already have an antivirus on your pc, then you should problem no more... because if it detected a virus, it will automatically pop-up..... and besides, mp3's RARELY contain a virus.
Yes they can, and you should always run a manual scan with all your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.

Always run a full system scan at least once a week to check for viruses and spyware
yes theycan just make sure you have a good virus scanner and you shouls be ok!
no, unless someone has done something like songname.mp3.exe, most things (like windows explorer) will hide file extensions and make it look like songname.mp3, other than that no

Generally, you need to get the firmware from the device manufacturer AND the updater software that allows you to put the firmware (re-install it) on the device. If you have those ttwo things, the next step is to install this updater software on your machine. After that, you need to place the device in recovery mode. Every device has a different way of entering into recovery mode, but most often it is done by holding down the "play" button, and then turning on the device. Continue to hold down the play button for several seconds after you turn on the device. If it enters recovery mode, then you should be able to update the firmware as before (using the updater)but i dont have the filmware!

MP3 players: MP3 or WMA ?

I just got a new car with an MP3 capable cd deck. I want to burn some cd's to take advantage of this capability. I especially like the fact that I can fit a large number of songs on the cd.

The cd player documentation states that MP3 and WMA files are supported. In order to choose the best format my criteria is that I want the best sound quality and the most songs on a cd.

Any advice as to which format to choose in order to satisfy my criteria?

Thanks in advance for your advice/comments!

MP3 players: MP3 or WMA ?hack myspace

MP3 ALL the way, it has a better and more richer sound and quality, it can be stored in smaller megabytes too, plus it's more commonly used in other applications beside your car, so you can use the cd elsewear too

MP3 players: MP3 or WMA ?fake myspace myspace.com

This is my opinion from listening to both formats over and over again using the same song and equal bit-rates and similar sizes:

I noticed that WMA files have slightly more clarity than it's MP3 counter part. I was mainly listening to cymbals and other high-pitched sounds during comparison.
mp3 is the best format for music on a car you can actually hear the sound difference between mp3 and wma

http://ekei.com/audio/
If you make mp3 from your cds.you have to rip the music at a high rate.so it sounds clear. if you rip them at a low rate music will sound like crap.also depends what you use to make the mp3 with.I use jetaudio. its easy to use.and has alot of features to make your music sound great.
The MP3 and WMA formats are not that different, except WMA is much newer and better optimized. A WMA file using a 96KB bit rate sounds about the same as a MP3 using a 128KB bit rate. What this means is that you get the same sound with a smaller file.

People who are suggesting that MP3s are smaller are most likely confusing WMAs with WAVs???
MP3 and WMA are both well known formats, however MP3 has a slightly better sound quality.
MP3 is more widely used so definitely get MP3 although WMA does have slightly better sound quality because it is a newer form of compression.

Im looking for portable mp3 player to run & bike with i can copy mp3s straight from my computer

Many of these popular ipods and such seem to require subscription services, fees and prepacked music and downloading, none of which interest me for using a portable mp3 player. I want a small and durable mp3 player that i can simply copy mp3s that i have created and have on my computer to the portable mp3 player and listen to while excercising, working, riding, etc.. Need a decent sized storage, at least 1.5 GB. And ability to arrange the play pattern of mp3 files. As an actor, i record monoglouges and scene scripts in audio portions, and need the ability to save them to a portable mp3 player that i can use to rehearse and memorize scripts through repeated listening, pausing at certain points, etc. As well as music playback. NO subscription or downloading based players, just straight mp3 players, with voice recording option would be nice. And affordable. Any suggestions?

if you have it all in mp3 format then any player will work. That is why it is called an mp3 player. It gets more complicated when you have different companies that include AAC, WMA, Ogg, WAV, or AIFF. Then music providers put their little coding in so it won't play on some competing player. You can use windows media player or itunes to rip a cd to mp3. Then transfer the mp3s to you player. Simple as 1,2,3.

Mp3 vs Wav files - how do they operate?

I have been doing some experiments with voice recording.

With the software I have got, I made a 5 minute voice recording using a 48000 bit rate. The MP3 file size was 4.57 meg and the WAV file using the same spec was 54.9 meg.

Next I did they same thing only this time I changed the bit rate to 24000. To my surprise the MP3 file was the same size but the WAV file was half the size (27.4 meg).

Can someone explain in simple English why the MP3 file size remained unchanged but the WAV file was halved? Obviously something in the nature of the different formats.

Thank you.

because you didn't remake the mp3 after you made a smaller wav file, if you did, then the file may have become a little bit smaller, but the main difference would be the bit rate.

You are confusing the bit rate with the hertz rate (frequency) 48000Hz is common frequency. The main size difference would be with changing the encoded bitrate anywhere from 24kbps to 320kbps, common bitrates are 128, 192, 256, etc)

Mp3 FM Transmitter Help?!?

So I finally got an Mp3 player (non-iPod). I also purchased an FM Transmitter so I can listen in my car (I do not have a cassette deck, just cd). Problem is, the sound isn't all that great (i.e., static, radio station cutting in). I have found that if I hold the cord where the transmitter plugs into my Mp3 player, it works better, but is obviously quite inconvenient. Is there a solution to this problem, or is there another way to listen to my Mp3 player in my car? Thanks for the help in advance.

Mp3 FM Transmitter Help?!?myspace layouts

"Problem is, the sound isn't all that great"

FM radio doesn't have good sound quality anyways. That's what your FM transmitter is broadcasted over. It's only 64 bitrate quality. The higher the bitrate, the better the sound quality is. Mp3 players itself have 128 bit - 192 bitrate quality depending on what bitrate quality music you have on it.

FM radio is not even close to CD quality. CD quality is 940 bitrate.

Mp3 FM Transmitter Help?!?codes for myspace myspace.com

What the other guy said is true, but you also have to put the FM transmitter close to your car's antenna. My antenna is over the rear fender, so I had to run a headphone extension to the backseat, then plug the FM trans back there, and had to reach around to turn the stupid thing on or off. You might try placing your player and transmitter in the rear window or near the car antenna and see if that makes a difference.

I have seen kits that connect directly to the car's FM antenna, so it isn't broadcasting a signal, and is immune to noise, but I've only seen it for satellite radio, not MP3 players (even IPods). That's too bad, and even if there were, prices start at like $70 or so, so modding it to work with your player would be more expensive than getting a new stereo with a tape deck (or built-in MP3 support)

Sorry.
If your FM transmitter allows you to change your frequency, change it to frequency where there is no FM station broadcasting in your area. (tough if you are in a major city, most channels are probably in use.)

Also, if you have an adjustable car antenna, try pushing the antenna all the way down so that it has a harder time receiving signals from FM stations.

Putting MP3 files into I-Tunes...?

Hi,

I've got lots of mp3 files that I want to put into i-tunes, so I can put them onto my i-pod. I have copied them onto cd's in mp3 format, but unlike when an audio cd is placed into my computer, i-tunes doesnot prompt to import the mp3 files. Is there a way of doing this? Also, I want to be able to import these files in specific order, such as all mp3's by a certain group together.

Any ideas?

Putting MP3 files into I-Tunes...?myspace.com blog

I assume that you're using Windows. If you just want to put them onto your iPod, you don't need to put them into iTunes at all. All you have to do is connect your iPod, select it in iTunes, and then open an explorer window on the CD that has the files on it (double-click My Computer, then the CD drive). Just drag the files that you want onto your iPod in the iTunes window, and it will copy them over.

The iPod will automatically group the mp3's by artist and album if the files are tagged. A tag is just a little bit of data that is added to the "front" of an mp3 file. You can tag your files using iTunes, but you can't change the files that are on your CD's, obviously.

So, you'll need to copy them to your hard drive first, and then import them into iTunes. You can import them by dragging them onto the library portion of the iTunes window, and then tag them by selecting them, right-clicking, and choosing "Get info". You can set the artist and album for more than one track at a time, if you want to. You can also tag them after you've copied them to your iPod by selecting them in iTunes under iPod-%26gt;Music.

If you don't want to tag your files (that is, if they aren't already tagged and you want to leave them on the CD), then you can group them using playlists. Right-click your iPod in iTunes and say "New playlist", and call it whatever you like. Then select your new playlist, and drag them over from the explorer window in whatever order you want. When you want to hear those tracks in that order, just select the playlist on your iPod and play it.

Hope this helps! You can read about mp3 tags, and other software that will create the tags for you, on Wikipedia (link below).

Get a samsung sansa thats what I have and I love it.
Maybe this was just an holiday sale, but I think Creative had an MP3 player with 2gb before.
check out the sansa rhaphsody E200 series

not sure of the price shouldnt be to much

there is something kinda like the ihome for it not as good and made of different material but it works. prolly under 25 bucks.

it really is worth the price. its awesome.
There are many different companies: iRiver, Samsung, Microsoft, Creative. You should just go to the store and shop around. You can also look online and see what's available. Office max and Office Depot sometimes have specials, in addition to the BestBuy, Circuit City route. Keep an eye on the sales ads in the paper.

MP3 Player that does not allow the music to be copied to your PC?

I am a musician and I would like to give some of my fans a free mp3 player with my songs on them, but would like to make sure they CANNOT copy the files form the mp3 player to their computers. Which would enable them to share the music. So a basic mp3 player with about 1 to 2 gb of space would do. So can someone recommend a few. Thank you

If they are not very computer savy, a iPod will do.

MP3 Player that does not allow the music to be copied to your PC?hot myspace myspace.com

I do not believe that there are any, no consumer would buy an MP3 player that does not allow their music to be copied. Your assumption should be that if your music is givin to anyone in ANY digital format, that if they want, they can make copies of it and convert it to other formats. Sorry if this is not the answer you want but it IS the correct one.
anything can be copied!! im only twelve and i could copy a genuine copy of vista in about 20 minutes.

.....MP3 Player only works in Safe Mode? Why??

I have problem with my MP3 player that Nobody has been able to solve for me!

When I plug it in, the "removable disk" installs in my computer, and it opens...yet there are no song files displayed ( There are 20 songs in the player). When I go to cut %26amp; paste songs...a "file error" pops up "file path not found" "..check correct file path"..."yadayada".

Today I tried installing the mp3 in "Safe Mode" and sure enough all twenty of the songs are displayed in the removable disk!

The problem in "Safe Mode" is that the music files such as iTunes and Limewire are not accessable!!...very frustrating!

I use Windows XP; My MP3 is 512 mb. It is a generic brand; The firmware is not the trouble. I have uninstalled and re-installed (a billion times).

What is is about the "Safe Mode" that differs? Why does my player install in that mode and not the other?

Can anyone solve this problem?

Vinyl->Audacity->MP3->iTunes->... can't sync w iPod?

I'm using Audacity to record vinyl into Audacity project format. Then I export into mp3 and can play the vinyl on my PC with a variety of players.

I can import the mp3 and play the mp3 in iTunes.

However the mp3 will not syn when I connect my iPod to my PC. Other stuff (Podcasts etc ) syncs fine.

How do I get to transfer these mp3's to my iPod?

Thanks

It' strange cause I too use audacity for recording from cassettes and save them as mp3;but have not faced such a problem with my ipod.

Newayz, you can try converting the mp3 songs into AAC format using iTunes and then sync them to your iPod.This will most probably solve your problem.

To convert into AAC,goto Edit--%26gt;Preferences--%26gt;Advanced.

Select Importing tab and choose 'Import using AAC encoder.'

Then right click the songs to be converted and select 'Convert selection to AAC'.

Hope this helped.

1. left click the icon at the right hand corner of the taskbar

2. click the pop up mini window with the message of "stop the USB mass storage device drive (X)

i don't understand how to do ne of this... HELP ME!!!!!

Mp3 player trubble?

well first plug it into the computer using the usb cord. if you have a laser mouse, the place where it get plugs into is a USB. so yeah once you connect it to your computer open the "my computer" icon. then you will see something that says "local disk" what you want to open is the same icon as the local disk icon but the one that pops up right after you plug the mp3 in the computer. after you open that up, hold down the mouse on a music file you want onto there and (while still holding down the mouse) drag it into the mp3 disc that you have open.

yeah so thats how you put songs onto it.

and when you want to remove it, go to the bottom right of the computer screen where you should find the mp3 icon. click that and follow your step 2 for removing the mp3 safely

if you have any more questions, feel free to message me

The Process

Overall, the process of transferring music files consists of the following:

Install music management software on your computer

Determine the source of the music files that you want to transfer

Create the appropriate music file format for your transfer

Connect your MP3 player to your computer

Transfer your music files to your player

Disconnect your player

Step 1: Install music management software on your computer

In order to create music files from your CDs and transfer music onto your MP3 player, you need to install music software onto your computer if it is not already installed. Usually, the appropriate software for your player is bundled with the MP3 player. If so, install that software, as it is probably the best option for your MP3 player. Two of the more popular examples of music management software include MusicMatch Jukebox and iTunes.

Step 2: Determine the Source of the Music to Transfer

The next step in getting music on your MP3 player is to determine the music that you want to transfer. The music must be owned by you and be in a format that you can easily convert to a format that can be read by your player. The two most common ways are through a music CD that you own or through a download from an Internet music store. Though possible, it is more difficult to use an old album or cassette tape as your source for music. This article does not address these cases.

Step 3: Create MP3s or other appropriate media from the source

If you are downloading from the Internet, your music files should already be in a format playable by your MP3 player. Skip to Step 4.

If you are using a music CD as your source:

Insert the CD into your computer.

Launch the music management software that you installed above. The application should recognize the CD and if you are connected to the Internet, should provide you with the artist name, album title and all of the names of the songs.

Check the preferences for ripping/creating/importing MP3s. This should be under a main menu on your software. For creating basic MP3s, make sure that the selected encoder is for MP3s (Note: almost all MP3 players will play MP3 format, so if you are unsure what format to use, choose this one). Also note the name and the location on the computer of the MP3s that will be created from your CD. For the best sounding audio quality adjust the sound quality to the best option available.

Rip the CD. There is usually a button on the software to rip the CD. On iTunes, it is called import and located in the top right corner. On MusicMatch it is called record and is a red record button located on the Recorder window.

DO NOTHING on the computer until the rip is complete. This is important because you may create MP3s that skip if your computer is not dedicated to ripping the CD.

You should now have MP3s that can be transferred onto your player.

Step 4: Connect your MP3 Player to your Computer

In most cases, your MP3 player will use one of two popular connections to your computer, either USB or FireWire. USB is the most common, and even the iPod which initially only used to connect via FireWire, can now be connected with USB also. Either connection will work seamlessly to you.

Turn off the MP3 player. With the computer on, connect the MP3 player cable to your computer and the other end to your device. For an easy access connection to your computer, use the convenience jacks that are now located in the front of most computers.

If your MP3 player is new and never been used, either insert new batteries or if it has a rechargeable battery be sure to charge your player first. Next, turn on the MP3 player. You should see a notification on the LCD display of your MP3 player that it is connected to the computer, e.g. USB connection active.

If you do not see a message on your MP3 player (assuming it has a screen for display), check your connections and make sure that they are connected. You can also try another USB or Firewire port on the computer. You also may need to launch the music software in order to connect the player appropriately. Experiment with your player and read the documentation to determine how your MP3 player works.

If your MP3 player requires the use of software to transfer files or you just want to try and use the software, skip to Step 6. If you just want a quick and easy approach to get some files on your player, continue with Step 5.

Step 5: Transfer your music files to your player

An easy way to understand MP3 player basics is to think of an MP3 player as a place to store files, much like a hard drive on your computer stores files or a digital camera stores pictures. All you need to do is transfer files in music format (such as MP3s) to the device from the computer.

The simplest way to transfer files is to simply use the file explorer on the computer to move files onto your MP3 player. Most MP3 players allow you to do transfer this way, but to be certain refer to your MP3 player documentation.

Follow these steps to transfer music to your player:

On a PC running a Microsoft Windows operating system, click on the My Computer icon. You should see many items listed including a drive labeled C: which is your main hard drive. Traverse this drive until you find your MP3s that you want to transfer. They should be located in the directory that you selected above when you ripped your MP3 files and should end with .mp3. (Alternatively, perform a search on your hard drive by right clicking on the C: drive and selecting search. Enter *.mp3 as your search terms to locate the files in question.) Select the files to transfer and click copy from the Edit menu.

Click on My Computer again to bring up a new window. Your MP3 player should show up in the list of computer drives. Usually it will show up as the E: or F: drive and be labled as a Removable Disk. Click on each drive until you determine which drive is your MP3 player. For more information on how to determine the right drive, see Matt Whitlock's article. (If your MP3 player still does not show up in the list of available drives, it probably requires software to transfer files. Skip to Step 6 below.)

You should see some files on the drive that you do not recognize and uniquely identify the player. Browse the folders on the proper drive until you find the music folder for your MP3 player. This should be recognizable by one or more demo MP3 files in that folder. Right click with the mouse and select paste. This should transfer the MP3 files to your player.

On a Mac, launch Finder. Your ripped or downloaded music is probably under the Music folder unless you specified a different folder. Follow the same instructions as above to copy the MP3 files. Your MP3 player should show up as a Drive in the upper left hand corner of the Finder window. Copy the files directly to the MP3 player.

Some MP3 players (mostly Flash-based) allow you to manage music files by allowing you to put them into different folders for easy playback For example, to create a folder for a Cold Play Parachutes CD, copy or drag the entire folder of songs to the player rather than just the songs themselves. The same can usually be done for an entire hierarchy of artists, albums and songs.

Step 6: Manage and Synchronize your Files with Music Software

If you have an MP3 player with several Gigabytes of storage or more and you are changing the music on your player at least every now and then, it is worth your time to use music software to help you manage your music files. There are two major benefits, among others, which make this worthwhile: (1) The software will automatically keep your files on your computer up-to-date with what is on your MP3 player and (2) it allows you to create playlists which you usually cannot do on the player itself.

Synchronizing your Files

Every software updates music on MP3 players differently. However, most all programs have a music library where all of your music can be stored and played from within the software. In order to synchonize and transfer music to your player, you must populate the music library with music files. The easiest way to do this is to import music from the MP3 files that you created on your computer above, an option usually located on the File main menu of your software.

iTunes synchronizes using playlists. You must create one or more playlists in iTunes, then select the playlists that you want to synchronize with your player in the user preferences (see below for more information on playlists).

MusicMatch uses a Device Manager to synchronize files. It tries to synchronize your entire music library with your MP3 player. So, make sure that you populate your library with the music that you want on your player before synchronizing.

Other programs will synchronize in their own way. Read their help files in order to determine the appropriate methods for synchronization.

Creating and Managing Playlists

Playlists are a great way to manage songs that you want to hear at certain times. For example, you can create a workout playlist that contains music that you enjoy listening to when you workout.

To create a playlist, you can usually go to the File menu and select New Playlist. Give your playlist a name and then start dragging your files from your music library to the new playlist. It is as simple as that. Make sure that you include the playlist when your synchronize your MP3 player to ensure that it gets copied on your player.

Disconnect your Player

It is important to note that you should not just remove your device from your computer without disconnecting it from the software that is updating it. It could theoretically ruin your MP3 player if you do so. To correctly disconnect the player, follow the instructions in your manual if you are using software to transfer files. If you are performing the transfer by hand, you can eject the drive in Microsoft Windows operating systems by clicking on the little gray box with a green arrow on it in the system tray in the lower right hand corner of your screen. Select the drive that you want to disconnect and click it. The drive will be disconnected. On a Mac, hit the eject button in the Finder window next to the appropriate drive.

To use software, or not to use software

As mentioned above, most MP3 players work with music software, which is usually the easiest and best way to manage your MP3 files with your player. However, depending upon the brand of MP3 player and software used as well as your technical ability, it might actually be more confusing to use software. In any event, it is recommended that you try both approaches and then determine what is the best way for you to manage your files.

MP3 player overheating from to much Voltage?

I have an mp3 player, normaly run on a 1.5 volt (triple a battery), and i never use it besides in my car because we dont have to good of radio here, and it kept dying like every 2 days, so i took a charger for my cellphone that hooks into an ashtray power thingy, and i hooked + to + on my mp3 player and - to -, and well it powers it, it over heats it after 5 mins and it shuts off, it hasnt harmed the mp3 player yet, but i need to know how to limit it to 1.5 V or so, should i go out and buy a resistor or something????? idk im new to electricity!

MP3 player overheating from to much Voltage?myspace.com quizzes

The voltage needs to be stepped down. Go to the store and buy a 1.5V car adapter that fits your mp3 player.

MP3 player overheating from to much Voltage?www myspaces myspace.com

You're asking for trouble if you use a charger for one electrical device to charge or power another device. The exception is a battery charger that's intended to charge any battery of the specified size/rating. If your MP3 is running on batteries of a different voltage than your phone charger is designed to charge, you run the risk of damaging the charger, your MP3, or both. Buy the right charger for your MP3, and you won't have any trouble.

If your battery is having trouble holding a charge, it could be you aren't following the optimum charging procedures for the type of battery you're using. Some batteries need to be fully (or mostly) discharged before being recharged, and others prefer to be recharged before they're fully discharged. The procedure depends on the type of technology that the battery uses (Nickel Cadmium, Lithium Ion, Nickle Metal Hydride, etc.) Failure to follow the procedure for your type of battery will lead to battery "memory", where the battery remembers how low it was before you charged it, and won't discharge below that point in the future.
If you're new to electricity don't mess around with the resister idea.

Go out and buy the right adapter for the unit.

You might try Radio Shack or Circuit City.
A 1.5 volt zener diode or regulator will work fine.

MP3 question?: why does it not play most of the songs that i downloaded?

i have a MEMOREX mp3 and i downloaded alot of songs in limewirea nd transfer them to "windows media player" from there i burned them to my mp3. BUt my mp3 does not play all of the songs only certain songs i tried looking at the file name but they are all the same .. and i even tried earsing all songs and transferring again but it doesnot work .. it only plays certain songs ..could it be because i let it drop twice to the ground by accident?

MP3 question?: why does it not play most of the songs that i downloaded?myspace comments

This is probably a technical issue. MP3 files are encoded in two major ways, constant bit rate (CBR) and variable bit rate (VBR). A lot of MP3 players will not handle VBR files. You can check each file by right-clicking on the file, selecting "Properties", and then the Summary tab. Near the bottom of the list it should show BIT RATE. If that's a single number it's a CBR file. Otherwise it's VBR.

Could be...

What it also could be is that the songs are licensed or stuff like that... or maybe just not compatible.

1. Thats up to you. It is a good idea to do your research and get an idea of what each one can do but in the end its your choice.

2. Yep, the yepp's bluetooth profile will support stereo headphones.

3. You can't use it as your phone but you can do alot of similar things. You can use it as a go between and answer calls through your phone and dial your phone.
1) Ok. Well it seems from what youve said in your question that you like the ipod touch the best.

I have an ipod touch and i must say the wi-fi is overrated. It really isnt all its cracked up to be, but Im not big of wifi to begin with. Forgetting that, the controls are awesome and I wouldnt change a thing about it. It really just works well and its really awesome. But $300-400 is pricey and im not sure its worth it for everybody.

And although the wi-fi is not the best, it is certainly a better option then the bluetooth.

2) It seems to me that you can use a set of bluetooth headphones with the P2

3) My understanding of the P2 is that you can connect your phone to it via the bluetooth, but im not quite sure how that works.

If you can afford the ipod touch I felt it was worth the money. I got mine a few weeks ago and love it. Granted, the P2 is cheaper and im not completely sure of its features; but the ipod touch was my choice. I love apple products, and i think for most people they are user-friedly and overall enjoyable products.

Hope i helped a little. =)

MP3 to .WAV conversion?

have an .MP3 file. I was wondering, if I convert it back to .wav, can I get the ORIGINAL .wav recording back? And I don鈥檛 have the original .wav recording. The reason why I鈥檓 asking this is, although when MP3 is converted to .wav, the file size increases, but can we get back the data that is chopped off in MP3 compression (from the original .wav)??

I need to convert my MP3 file to a lossless file format.

MP3 to .WAV conversion?funny videos myspace

You can decode the MP3 to WAV but you will not experience any imporvement in quality whatsoever.

You can't create what doesn't exist. Data was permanently lost while encoding it to preserve space. The only way you'll be able to obtain a good quality recording is directly from source.

What you'd end up with is a lossless copy of a lossy file.

MP3 to .WAV conversion?myspace commentes myspace.com

you can use creative meadia converter
I don't think so. An mp3 is far more compressed than a WAV, turning it into a WAV file won't give you restored resolution any more than melting an ice cube in a gallon container will fill it full. Sorry!
yah... creative is the best way to go... but i think that windows media will do the converting for you... the quality will be the same as a mp3 though... mp3 gets rid of the sounds that people cant here... than compresses the file... its like writing a sentence and making all the words misspelt to make it shouter:

this is a sample to explain the process of compression

tis is a sampl to expln the proces of cmpresion

see how the second takes less space than the first... but it makes it sound a litter worse than normal... so converting to lossless wont make any difference... besides making the file bigger... compression doesnt lower the quality...
because mp3 is a perceptual codec (it is not lossless) converting back to .wav will not bring the audio back yo the way it was originally.
No. That data is thrown away in the conversion process. It's gone. No way to get it back. You can still however convert it back to it's original format.
Once a file is compressed into a new format parts of it are discarded. The best digital audio is .cda which is uncompressed audio put on an original CD. Convert that to MP3 and a 10 megabyte per minute audio file becomes a 1 megabyte file per minute file. So you can see a lot is lost, but the human ear is not a good sound resolver so the lost frequencies do not change the music very much. A CD can hold perhaps 25 songs, a MP3 CD can hold up to 300 songs. The Apple IPod uses MP3 and is the favorite of millions of music lovers.
